The featured designs this week are a handmade gift bag with Stampin’ Up’s Designer Series Paper and a gift box using Stampin’ Up’s Jolly Holly bundle. The Christmas gift bag is made with the Elegant Pine Snowflake DSP, by taking two matching 12 x 12 sheets. Each sheet is scored the same. If the paper pattern is directional be aware of the direction. The top of the paper is scored at 2” and the remaining three sides are scored at 3”. Fold down the 2” side so the inside pattern is on the outside and add adhesive. Both sheets have the 2” side adhered down and look the same. Take one sheet and cut the left and right squares at the bottom and remove them. On the second sheet of DSP cut the bottom score line horizontally to the score line. Your second sheet has two bottom flaps. Take the sheet with the flaps and lay it flat to meet the second sheet folding the center flap on top with adhesive. Then adhere the two flaps with tape top and bottom and fold them upward to create half of the upright bag. The with adhesive on four sides adhere the sides of the bag. Using a small hole punch, punch two holes on either side of the bag to thread through ribbon to create the handles. The ribbon length is 12” for each. The Christmas Gift box uses two panels of Basic White cardstock. The first panel is the bottom of the box. It is 7 1/2 x 9 scored at 1 1/2 on all 4 sides. Hold the panel vertically and Cut each tab to the score line and then wedge each side. Glue each tab and adhere it inward to create the vertical box. The Flip Top Lid is created next. It is 4 1/2 x 9 1/2 and scored horizontally at 1”, 2”, and 8”. Glue the 1” and 2” together and wedge each side. This is the front of the lid. Add glue to the 8” tab and secure it to the back of the vertical box. Add another strength panel 1 1/2 x 4 1/2 to the inside of the front of the box covering the tabs. The second strength panel is 4 1/2 x 6 for inside of the lid. To decorate the top lid of the box. Cut a cardstock panel in Real Red 4 1/4 x 5 3/4. Next cut a second piece of cardstock in Shaded Spruce 4 x 5 1/2 and emboss it with the Jolly Holly embossing folder. Adhere the two together and glue them both to the top lid. In the Jolly Holly dies there is a large label cut the label in Basic White cardstock and add the sentiments from the stamp set. Tie a bow and adhere to the box with embellishments.
